The idea for Textual came from a frustration. Every blogging platform I tried was either too complex or too limiting. I didn't want a big CMS with a dozen plugins or settings. I didn't want to manage a server. I just wanted to write something in Markdown and have it published quickly and cleanly and on my own domain.
This is why I built Textual. Textual strips blogging down to its essentials. You write in whatever Markdown editor you prefer (we have one in the app if you want). You publish with one click. We handle the hosting, the CDN, the SSL, the performance. Your writing goes live in seconds and loads instantly for readers everywhere.
Textual is intentionally small and focused. There is no venture capital, no growth-at-all-costs pressure, no plans to bolt on features that don't serve writers.
